Itinerary for Israel and Jordan 15 day tour:
Day 1:
A driver will be waiting at the Ben Gurion airport, to take you to your hotel in Tel-Aviv.
Day 2: Jerusalem
Pick up is at 07:15 a.m. from your hotel in Tel Aviv, or 08:30 from Jerusalem.
Travel to Jerusalem in an air conditioned mini van. Start with a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, see the new city of Jerusalem, and the Temple Mount of the Old City.
When driving you will be able to see the walls of the city and the Garden of Gethsemane.
Entering the Old City by way of the Armenian Quarter, arrive at the Western Wall.
Walk along to the Stations of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, and arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
Continue on to the Byzantine main street that is over 1700 years old.
Visit the Cardo and the Jewish Quarter.
Walk up to Mt. Zion and only on Saturdays visit the Hall of the last Supper and David's tomb, on all other days visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum.
Day 3: Masada and Dead Sea
07:15 a.m. Pick up from your hotel, or at 08:30a.m from Jerusalem (or at 07:20 from Tel Aviv with an extra fee ) , and drive to the Dead Sea with our team of professionals.
11:30 : Tour of Masada will start at the entrance of the site. Included in your package is an optional cable ride.
13:00 : Lunch at a local restaurant.
14:00 : Bathing in the Dead Sea
15:30 : We will begin our return trip towards Tel Aviv. This route includes Ein Gedi and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, and a view of Jericho one of the oldest cities in the
world.
18:30 :End of the tour
Day 4: Jericho and Bethlehem
Start the tour from your hotel in Tel Aviv, where you will be collected by our professional driver at 07:15 am or from Jerusalem at 08:30 am. Drive down towards the Dead Sea passing the
Inn of the Good Samaritan. We will stop for a brief time at the sea level marker, and continue to Jericho. Above Jericho you will be able to see Mt. Temptation where Jesus fasted for
40 nights.
Travel to Bethlehem to the birthplace of Jesus.
Take a walk across Manger Square to the Church of Nativity. See the beautiful original mosaic floor from the 4th century under the one that was constructed in the 6th century.
Tour the Crusader Church, that is dedicated to St. Catherine, and go down the grotto where the Hebrew bible was translated into Latin by St. Jerome.
In Bethlehem we will pass the milk grotto and go to Shepherd's Fields. From here we will start the journey back.
Arrival back at your hotel about 18:00 p.m
Day 5: Nazareth and Sea of Galilee
Start the tour by being collected from your hotel in Jerusalem at 05:50, or from Tel Aviv at 07:15. Drive past Netanya and Hertzeliya, traveling north and drive through the Armageddon plain.
There will be a view of Megiddo, and we will stop at the Mount of Precipitation. When arriving in Nazareth the first stop will be the Church of Annunciation.
This church was built on the place that the angel Gabriel appeared before Mary. Next to this is the church of St. Joseph.
Leaving Nazareth travel to the Sea of Galilee, and pass Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine.
At the bottom of Mount Beatitude, tour Capernaum, which was the home of Peter, and the Benedictine Church that commemorates the miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish.
As we continue, view the Golan Heights in the background, and pass Tiberias, the modern city that was built over 2000 years ago and was named after the Roman emperor Tiberuis.
For those who wish there will be a chance to be baptized with the waters of the Jordan River.
On the way back we will pass the site of the Transfiguration, at Mount Tabor.
Arrival back in Tel Aviv about 18:00.
Day 6: Caesarea, Acre and Haifa
Start the day by being collected from your hotel, in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. As we are leaving Tel Aviv, drive along the Mediterrannean, to Caesarea. Explore the excavations with your guide,
and view the well preserved rooms, a moat, and the gateways. There is a beautiful Roman amphitheater that is very well preserved, and still used today for major events, and concerts. See
the remains of a hippodrome, and a Roman temple.
Continue North through Haifa and tour the Baha'i shrine and the famous gardens. There are 19 terraces that make up the garden. Drive on to Rosh Hanikra and decend in a cable car to the
grottoes.
Driving back we will see Acre, a huge Crusader city. It is very well preserved, and it is hard to believe that it has survived through the years. Tour the Turkish prison that was used under the
Turkish rule, and also by the British to hang the Jews, so that it would limit the imigration after World War 2.
Arrival back at your hotel about 18:00 p.m.
Day 7: Tel-Aviv city Tour
Pick up from your hotel in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, and start with a tour of the Diaspora Museum. This is one of the museums in Israel where you will see the history and culture of the
Jewish people.
We will then go for a drive of some of the main streets in Tel Aviv, including the entertainment center, and the business center.
Your guide will show you some of the best places to go hang out in the evenings that you are staying in Tel Aviv. See where the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin took place in Rabin's Square.
Tour Old Jaffa, an 8000 year old port city.
Tour the ancient ruins, and stroll through the artists' quarter. In 1887 the first neighborhood was built in Neve Tzedek, we will take a walk through it.
In Nahalat Binyamin see the musicians, handmade jewelry, and the artifacts.
Stop at Sheinkin, with its unique atmosphere, shops, and cafes.
After the tour you will be driven to your hotel.
Day 8: Safed, Tiberias and Mount Meron
Pick up from your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, and drive north for a view of Megiddo. Tiberias, is on the Sea of Galilee, start by touring the archeological sites and graves from the 1st to
the 5th centuries. Visit the grave of one of the pupils of Rabbi Akiva, Rabbi Baal Hanes. The women and men are separates at these sites. There is a market here that sells religious
paraphernalia.
Drive to Safed to tour the Ari Hakadosh synagogue, and walk through the alley ways of the Old City, the visitors' center, and the artist galleries.
When arriving at Mount Meron visit the grave from the second century, of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. He wrote the first book on the Kabala. On Lag Baomer Israelis make the pilgrimage
here to light bonfires and celebrate the holiday.
Day 9: Eilat
After check out from Hotel, you will be taken to Airport for your flight to Eilat.
Arrival to Eilat's airport, transfer to your Hotel in Eilat.
Free day to spend in Eilat. Overnight Eilat.
Day 10: Petra
A driver will pick you up from your hotel at 08:15 - 8:30 in Eilat, and take you to the Jordan border. You will be assisted with border proceedings and continue on to Petra. Tour Petra with a
qualified licensed guide.
Enter through the Siq (the pathway, a crack in the sandstone), to arrive at "The Treasury".
Included in your package is an optional horse-back ride. Ride for the first 200 meters of the route ("Tipping" the carrier is required, ranging from 2-5 dollars at your discretion).
Continue the tour to see the Roman theater, the facades, the tombs, the cisterns, the crypts, and the temples. After the tour - lunch in a local restaurant.
Then you will be taken to your Hotel. Free evening in Petra, overnight in Petra.
Day 11: Wadi Rum
In the morning have breakfast in the desert, and then start your touring day.
2 hours tour of 4x4 wheels will take you to a magnificent landscape.
We will drive you into the Nabataens ways, and the Bedouin way of life.
After the tour you can check into your tent for the night.
Day 12: Mount Nebo, Madaba and Kerak
Pick up from your tent in Wadi Rum A driver will take you about 30 kilometers to Madaba, start touring with your private guide. Madaba is known for its mosaics and Byzantine art.
Tour St. Georges's Church with the map of the Holy Land, that was created in the 6th century.
It is made up of two million pieces of colored stone.
After this, we will drive a short way to Mt. Nebo, where Moses viewed the Holy Land. Also tour the early Christian church of Mount Nebo.
There are many more mosaics to view here. After the tour, you will be taken to your hotel in Amman.
Day 13: Jerash
From your hotel in Amman, a driver will be waiting at 09:00 a.m. to take you about 50 killometers north to Jerash.
This was one called the Pompeii of the East, being a well preserved city of the Roman Empire.
Tour Hadrian's Arch, built to honor the visit of Emperor Hadrian, in 130 A.D.
See the hippodrome that has seating for 15,000, and the Forum. Continue on to the Temple of Artemis, the Colonnaded Street and the Nymphaeum.
After the tour you will be taken back to your hotel in Amman.
Day 14: Amman city tour
A driver will pick you up from your hotel at 06:00 a.m.
Start the day with a tour of the Citadel located in downtown Amman.
Continue on to tour the Archeological Museum, where you can find artifacts dating back over 10,000 years.
Visit the Roman Theater that dates back to the 2nd century, with 6000 seats, and dates back to the period when the city was know as Philadelphia.
It was built into the hillside, facing north to keep the sun off of the spectators.
Take a walk through Jabal Amman, which is one of the oldest parts of Amman.
Today it is occupied by the wealthy.
Back to your hotels in Amman. Arrival back at your hotel about 17:00.
Day 15: Departure
After check out from Hotel, you will be taken to Airport for you flight back.
