Petra is located in the middle of the desert, and was inhabited by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago. They prospered by building water cisterns, and sold the water to passing merchants and travelers.  It is said that the Nabateans abandoned Petra after a huge earthquake, because the water cisterns were damaged beyond repair. The Nabateans left an abundance of history behind. Walk through Petra, see Her famous Treasury, the mourning halls, the temples, the tombs, and much more. Early morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Amman at about 6:00 a.m.and drive to Petra.

Start the tour with the entrance, or the siq, as it is called.  Tour Petra with an experience licensed guide.

After visiting Petra you will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Early evening, we will drive back towards Amman where we will drop you off at your hotel, around 7:00 p.m.
